Lives are changed. Families are restored.
Purpose is found by changing the narrative.
They’re skeptical when the petite Latina woman decked out in leopard print is introduced, but in just 60 minutes she wins them over. She tells them about the time she became the first woman to make it through a professional football training camp. And the time she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for ALS in the name of her friend, former NFL player Kevin Turner. She tells them she’s a domestic violence survivor.
But she’s not a domestic violence speaker. Rachel Baribeau is a speaker of service and platform. She speaks to student-athletes about taking back the headlines for good – showing them that they have the power to change the narrative and to find their purpose in life outside of their sport.
When she’s finished, they wait in line to speak to her. They tweet at her. They text her. They strive to become the kings and queens she tells them they all can be.
“Purpose, Passion and Platform”
I just wanted to let you know that i actually just had a conversation with my dad today and finally forgave him for being absent for so many years. It was mainly because I was falling right into his footsteps. I was not being a king. I was just trying to avoid being like him and I ended up being just like him. Now I feel as if a burden has been lifted off of my shoulders and I can now regain focus on what God really has planned for me. So I want to truly thank you for taking the time out of your schedule and allowing God to use you to speak to me. God has blessed you in so many ways and you are truly amazing!”
